CHARACTERISTIC AND USAGE
n-Hexadecyltrimethoxysilane is a long chain alkyl alkoxy silane. Si-9163M is used as a surface modify primer on inorganic substrates such as glass, pigment, mineral filler etc. to alter the physical characteristic of treated substrates. It is very low volatility, after application on the substrates, n-Hexadecyltrimethoxysilane reacts with hydroxyl in the inorganic substrates or atmospheric moisture to form stable covalent bonds, thereby generating the active ingredient while liberating alcohol. The active ingredient greatly increase the water contact angle and oil wettability of the treated substrates, providing water-repellant, dustproof, anti-stiction, hydrophobicity effect.
